Have you ever seen people playing padel tennis and wondered what the fuss was all about? It’s a racket sport similar to tennis but played on a smaller court with walls. It’s a fast-paced game perfect for beginners. Here are a few basic rules of padel for beginners. Scoring Points: 15-30-40-Game Game: Four points make up a game. When both players are tied on 40, the player with the two points advantage is the winner. Set: A player wins a set after winning six games with a minimum 2 point lead. Match: To win a match, a player or team must win two out of three sets. Deuce: Once tied 40-40, the match must be won by a player/team winning two consecutive points. *Golden Point: New rule (see FAQ) Tie-break: If the score is 6-6, whoever wins the tie-break is the winner. The tie-break game lasts until one side has 7 points or more and is at least two points ahead of the other. Intervals & changes In the first and third games, players change ends. When a tie-break takes place, the player’s switch ends every 6 points. When players change ends, they are allowed a 90-second break. When players change ends in a tie-break, they have 20 seconds to rest. In between points, there can be no more than 20s. After each set, players are allowed a two-minute break. Serving The first point of the match is always played from the right side of the court. The server switches sides after every point until the game is over. Players serve for the entire game, while receivers change after every point. The player must serve underhand and below the waist. There are two chances for a successful serve. Servers must stand behind the service line, while receivers can stand wherever they like. A service must land diagonally over the net to land in the other player’s service box. Receivers cannot return the serve until the ball bounces. Balls that bounce in the service box and strike the wire mesh fence before crossing the service line are faulty. A point will be let (played again) if the ball lands in the opponent’s service court after hitting the net. Gameplay Generally played as a doubles match (2 vs 2), teams must hit alternately. Balls end rallies after having bounced twice, touched the fencing or hit you or your teammate. It is in play if the ball hits any part of the court (including walls) following its landing on the opposing team’s side. Although the ball can bounce off any of the walls, it can only touch the floor once before returning. A player has one chance to return the ball to their opponent. Volley hits (hits before the first bounce) are allowed. You can even smash the ball off the court as long as it bounces on your opponent’s side first. Padel has become increasingly popular on a global scale and is one of the world’s fastest growing sports. It’s easy to learn and offers multiple playing levels, which explains why its popularity is on the rise. As a result, new padel courts are being built every day in Germany and Austria. "As a new partner, we are excited to shaping the padel sport in the future and providing a stage for the world's best padel players. "Play like a BOSS" applies to all padel fans from beginners to professionals," says Daniel Grieder, CEO of HUGO BOSS. Phillipp Radel, CEO of WWP-Group , which is handling the marketing and implementation of the sponsorship activities in Germany and Austria said, "We are delighted to have BOSS as the Title Partner of the WPT tournaments in Germany and Austria. Together, we will continue to develop the WPT events with the aim of making the tournaments even more attractive for players and fans as an entertainment and business hub." Internet Resource: https://luxferity.com/brand/hugo-boss-6/news/boss-becomes-title-partner-world-padel-tour-vienna-dusseldorf In June 2023 Resipadel was offered the opportunity to create and present a Padel Court concept for HUGO BOSS , the main sponsor of the WPT in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The parameters included a location that would not allow any structural changes to the surface , an existing parking lot, upon which the Court was supposed to be based. In addition to this challenging condition the surface was inclined with an elevation difference of 850mm. The concept draft was presented and accepted by the HUGO BOSS top management. In August 2023 Resipadel received the confirm order and started the manufacturing procedure. Due to additional restrictions at the originally intended site a new location was needed and after some considerations it was decided to install the system directly on top of an existing Beach Volley Ball pi t , without structural changes. With a pretty level plane, the Resipadel concept will now be built on sand and will prove the versatility of the overall Resibase concept . Installation will be concluded by mid-October.
